Our Safeguarding Commitment
Great Britain Jujitsu believes that every child, young person, and adult at risk has the right to participate in Jujitsu in a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and we are committed to creating a culture where concerns are taken seriously and acted upon swiftly.
We work in line with UK statutory guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children and The Care Act 2014, and follow the safeguarding standards set out by the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU), a partnership between the NSPCC and Sport England.
All affiliated clubs and registered coaches are required to adhere to our safeguarding policies and codes of conduct. Non-compliance may result in suspension or removal from the federation.

Coach Vetting (DBS)
All affiliated coaches working with children or vulnerable adults must hold a valid, Enhanced DBS check.

How to Report a Concern
If you have a safeguarding concern — about a coach, a club, an athlete, or any member of the GBJ community — please follow these steps.
Ensure Immediate Safety
If a child or adult is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not hesitate.
Record Your Concern
Document the concern factually and objectively, including dates, times, and individuals involved.
Contact the DSL
Report the concern to our Designated Safeguarding Lead (details below) within 24 hours.
External Referral
Where required, GBJ will refer the matter to the relevant local authority or statutory agency.
