GBJ Nationals 2023

This is our 2nd GBJ Nationals Event and we want to see everyone from last year and more!

This is the daddy of all UK JJIF Events that we hold, we have had 2 x regional competitions this year, in preparation for this, the GBJ Nationals.

We want to take more British fighters to JJIF events, held worldwide. We have already been to Belgium, Paris, Greece, Israel, and by the time the GBJ nationals come around, Mongolia!

Great Britain Jujitsu is for anyone who is capable of grappling (Ne Waza or commonly referred to as BJJ) and Sports Jujitsu. The JJIF is an international federation, that only recognises Great Britain Jujitsu as the national federation of Great Britain.

The GBJ Nationals will have adults and children Ne Waza and Sports Jujitsu, using the JJIF Ruleset.

All rules are on our website, just head to ‘Rules in the main menu.

Date of Event:

Saturday 12th August 2023 – weigh-ins at 9am – Adults

Sunday 13th August 2023 – weigh-ins at 9am – Kids

Weigh-Ins

Weigh-ins for the GBJ Nationals will be at 9 am on both Saturday and Sunday, this will be in NoGI (there is no requirement to wear a Gi).

Equipment Required:

For Sports Jujitsu you will need a Gi, gumshield, 4oz gloves (mma gloves will do) shinguards (ideally the softer material ones). We will provide red and blue belts to go on the respective fighter.

COST:

Adults: £35.00 per category, unless 2 x events are entered, in which case, you will get a £10 discount

Kids: £25.00 per category, unless 2 x events are entered, in which case, you will get a £10 discount.

Rules:

JJIF Ruleset – all rules are found on the GBJ main homepage main menu. Just click ‘Rules’ and either read the information or watch the video. Ne Waza is almost identical to IBJJF Ruleset. The JJIF Sports Jujitsu ruleset, can be quite involved, so please make sure you have read and understood them, before entering. We will go through the rules before each category on the day.

The main difference between kids and adults sports jujitsu, is that in the kids Sports Jujitsu, they are not allowed head shots. Other than that, same rules apply.
